Let's Get Ready to Show Day Camp

For a week in July and a week in August we offer a special camp called
"Let's get Ready to Show"
We teach the riders not only the skills needed to show but all the preparation
techniques that are used to have an edge over the competition.
Demonstrations are done on braiding manes, braiding tails, clipping, bathing and
other special things that can make your horse stand out at a show.
Riders learn about show safety, things to take to a show and how nerves can
play a part in the success of your showing. We practice for the classes
that students have a keen interest to show in and match each individual
with a suitable mount. Various skills are enhanced in the areas of
Showmanship, Equitation, Flat and Hunter/Jumper classes.
On the Friday of the show camp week each student is responsible for
their own presentation, as well as their horse's, while they partake
in a closed show with family and friends supporting them.
The hired judge is asked to take into account that
this is some of the participants first attempt at showing and presentation
was done by the participant alone. I hope you can see by these pictures
the desire these children have to do their best. Young riders have to learn
the art of showing somewhere and at Stillbrook Riding Stables,
we are dedicated to giving them the best start possible!
