Summer Day Camp 2010

Stillbrook Riding Stables Day Camp Routine:

****  we work our day/week around the weather and what the camp children show the most interest in.  Our choices of activities will include such things as: Hallowe'en on Horseback, Scavenger Hunts, Pamper your horse, wagon rides, trail obstacles, learning to drive a horse and buggy, touring the Old McDonald farm, working with the foals etc. etc. **When registering please let us know your three favourite activities to do. 
If the weather is rainy we always have fun alternatives.
If there are different ages and abilities we divide into groups and teach lesson in two separate rings to ensure your child gets the best lesson possible. 
 

Our Day.......
         children arrive at 9am or shortly before
9-10am barn safety, feeding, assigning horses, grooming and tacking
10 - 11 one hour riding lesson
11am - 12 snack and games on horses
lunch break - movie time
1pm - 2 supervised swimming (weather permitting)
2-3 Horsey Craft time
3-4 afternoon trail ride (parent may pay for trail and join your child)
**throughout the week we add in a choice from above.

Week of August 16 - 20 - all ages - games on horseback,

Week of August 23 - 27 - beginner /intermediate - All about showing - mini horse
                                      show Friday afternoon

Week of Aug 30 - Sept 3  Fun daily adventures - Mon. Aug 30 -Hastings to home ride 
                             Full  Day Trail Ride from Hastings back to farm
                             Come in at 9am trailer horses to Hastings, ride from 10 - 3 with
                             a break for lunch along the way.  Must be intermediate to advanced 
                             rider.  $100 for the day plus taxes.  Limited spaces .
                                                                     

                            Tues.Aug 31 - swimming with horses-- in at 9am ride to swimming area
                                                             swim with horses, have lunch break and ride
                                                              home
                                                                      

                           Wed Sept 1 - Musical ride Camp -     - be part of a full day of learning
                                                 how to be part of a musical ride.  A show will be put on
                                                 at 3:30 for parents to see.
    
                           Thursday Sept 2    Regular camp day
                                                       Cross country jumping etc. for the adventurous
                                                       western gaming, and advanced games

                            Friday - Swimming with the horses,
                                                      
                                          

 Cost for camp is $70.00 per day plus taxes
(if children need to come before 8:45 then addition charges apply)

New this year…Afternoon “Camp for Horse Krazy Kids”

1pm – 4pm Mon. Tues. and Wed.  Horse games, horse/pony rides

This is a new program for younger children to enjoy horses! $50.00 plus taxes
for three hours of “safe, horsey fun!!!” Age 5-6
